The Idea of Mela for Exchange of Horoscopes by parents was the brain child of our past Presidents, Sri HR Ramu (Founder) and Sri VG Gopalakrishnan. The first Jadhaga Parivarthanai Mela with massive support of parents was conducted in the year 2004. Now we have reached the stage to conduct 25th (Silver Jubilee) Mela on 26th March 2017 at Kumara Vyasa Mandapa, Rajajinagar 4th Block, Bangalore – 560 010 with the participation of a large number of parents with their sons or daughters from Tamilnadu, neighbouring States and from abroad.

Sri S. Suresh Kumar, M.L.A., of Rajajinagar Constituency had conveyed his greetings over phone for the successful conduct of the Mela. Smt. Deepa Nagesh, Municipal Counsellor, Rajajinagar Ram Mandira Ward No. 108, participated .

Astrologer Sri J.K. VijIyakumar (Sri Adiyantha Prabhu Astrology Centre, Madurai) gave a brief talk on the process of matching of horoscopes. The Inauguration commenced with prayer song by Smt. Rathnamala Raman, Palayamkottai.

Then the Lamp was lighted by Smt. Deepa Nagesh, Municipal Counsellor, Smt. Aranmanai Vidhya, Kumbakonam, Smt. Subhashree Viswanathan, Bangalore, Smt. Uma Ramamoorthy, Thanjavur and Smt. Jothy Mai, Madurai President Sri K.V. Pathy requested the parents bachao, bETi paDhao' of our community to give preference to girl child (as per our Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modiji's slogan- 'bETi bachao, bETi padhao' so that the shortage of girls will be solved in future.

Sri V.G. Goplakrishnan, former President of KUSO, advised the parents to stop deep scrutiny of the horoscopes on endless points and suggested to conduct simple marriages avoiding unnecessary huge expenditures. Moreover, he repeatedly insisted to forget the differences and requested them to encourage inter-city marriages so as to get good and easier alliances for their children.

Sri T.S. Jayabalan, General Secretary, in his brief speech explained the services and achievements of KUSO to the audience. A large number of parents joined this Silver Jubilee Mela along with their sons/daughters most of them graduates/under graduates, working in public sector, govt. and private establishments in India and abroad. When the registration process of horoscopes completed, General Secretary Sri T.S. Jayabalan and Joint Treasurer Sri R.R. Baskar, started announcing the details about nowrin / nowran respectively, one after another, with sufficient time gap to enable the parents to note down the details.

The office bearers, Executive Committee Members and Volunteers were in key positions of Registration Counters enabling the parents in the registration process of horoscopes. (KUSO President Sri K.V. Yogeshwari Nagarajan, Committee Members, viz., Sri N.R. Viswanathan, Sri B.V. Srinivasan, Sri N. Saravanan, Sri M.R. Nagarajan, Sri R. Krishnakumar, Sri B.K.M. Rajkumar, Sri S.K. Varadarajan, Sri B.M. Srinivas, Smt. Ramila Devadoss Babu, Smt. Shanthi Baskar, Smt. Subhashini Krishnakumar and Smt. Jeyanthi Sridharan) The parents consulted with our Astrologer Sri J.K. Vijikumar on matching of horoscopes, after lunch. It is to be noted that those parents whose horoscopes matched with each other were introduced and arrangements were made for them to discuss with each other about their alliance.

For the successful conduct of this Silver Jubilee Mela, General Secretary, Sri T.S. Jayabalan, Secretary Sri T.A. Pattabiraman, Internet Computer Operator Sri V.G. Ravindranath and Joint Internet Computer Operator Sri T.R. Rajesh Kanna, had taken much steps and initiatives during the past 30 days, we observe.

We observed that the parents who had participated were from Bangalore, Nagamangala (Mandya), Hyderabad, Thirupathi, Madurai, Erode, Hosur, Dindigul, Karur, Ayyampettai, Periyakulam (Theni), Thiruvappur (Pudukkottai), Thiruppaththur (Vellore), Trichy, Salem, Coimbatore, Thanjavur, Chennai, Kumbakonam, Paramakudi, Tirunelveli and Palayamkottai. The highlight of this Silver Jubilee Mela. Also, some of the parents were from Telungana, Andhra Pradesh and some other States and even from foreign countries, viz., Qatar, Germany, Oman-Muscat, Vietnam, Philippines & USA.

For the successful conduct of this Silver Jubilee Mela, wide publicity was given by Sri K.G. Narayanan, Revathi Tiffin Centre, Madurai through his Sourashtra Time TV and by Sri Sudharsan through Sagar TV by advertisement clippings. A large number of social workers and office bearers of many Sourashtra Sabhas were very much co-operative in exhibiting the wall posters and distributing notices for this Mela.

Morning refreshments, evening tea and sumptuous lunch at 2-00 p.m. were provided to the visiting parents and their wards. With the vote of thanks by Senior Committee Member Sri N.R. Viswanathan, the 25th Silver Jubilee Mela concluded.

Before commencement of the routine business of the Mela, Prof. T.S. Vidyasagar, SEBI (Security And Exchange Board of India), in his brief speech, narrated the benefits of investments in stocks and financial institutions rather than investing in gold, land and houses, according to the guidelines of SEBI. He replied to the parents queries on investments referring the Guide Book of SEBI and thus they were very much convinced by the explanations given by Prof. Vidyasagar.

Sri R.K. Baskar, the producer of Sourashtra Cultural Feature Film, 'SINGAAR' and Lion Sri V.V. Suresh of Suresh Advertiser explained the audience the features of this film which creates awareness among the people and distributed the notices among the parents seeking their support.
